My time in Thailand and at Rahab Ministries is coming to an end. I cannot believe how fast 8 months has gone. The hardest thing about leaving a place and a ministry like this is the fact I have the freedom to leave and I have the means to afford a plane ticket to and from America. Most of, if not all of the girls who work in Patpong cannot afford to travel to other countries or even leave the type of work that they do. It breaks my heart that I have to leave so many girls behind that may be stuck in a place like Patpong for their whole life. All of the girls I have met have impacted my life and are all uniquely beautiful in their own way. I have loved getting to hear their stories and feel so blessed that I got to spend time with them and that they shared part of their lives with me. The opportunity to serve at Rahab Ministries has blessed me in so many ways. Even though many people come to a ministry like this to give and share love and wisdom with people I find that I have received so much more from these girls than I could ever give them. Both the girls working at Rahab Ministries and the one who are still in the bars have shown me so much love. I have learned what true joy looks like through the morning worship times at Rahab. I felt so much love and acceptance from the girls in the bars the first time they hugged me and held my hand. I will never forget the people who have enriched my life these 8 months. My prayers will be with all of the girls still being sexually exploited and with all the faithful sons and daughters of God who go to the darkest places to help God’s children who are being oppressed and exploited. All the things I have seen, learned and experienced here will stay in my heart. God is moving in Thailand and I am excited to see what the future has in store for this beautiful nation and its people. Thailand will forever have a special place in my heart.
